El Ciervo rojo (Cervus elaphus) es uno de los mamíferos silvestres más grandes de Europa. Admirado y cazado por el Ser Humano desde los anales de la historia, ya aparece representado en innumerables pinturas y grabados de las cuevas paleolíticas. El Ciervo rojo ibérico (Cervus elaphus hispanicus) es de menor tamaño que los ciervos europeos y su librea estival es pardo grisácea.

These are fine magnificent animals. Thank goodness that they have not all been hunted out of existence. Pretty soon they will be starting the rut, when the males will battle themselves to exhaustion. As males, what we won't do for a little sex! Saludos!
